Raspberries
The raspberry belongs to the rose family and is more of an aggregate stone fruit than a berry. The raspberry originally came from Europe and was already known in the Stone Age as the forest raspberry.
In addition to our production in Pulheim-Stommeln, we also cultivate organic raspberries in the German state of Brandenburg.
Cultivation
To ensure an early start to the harvest, the plants are first planted in cold storage. Then field crops and finally Frigo raspberries are harvested. By placing the raspberry plants in the cold, we have delayed growth by several weeks. About twelve weeks before harvest after sowing. As early as this fall, plants produce "pre-flowering" and then harvest the fruit before frost.

Our varieties

Diamond Jubilee
Frutania has held the exclusive cultivation and marketing rights to the raspberry varieties "SAPPHIRE" and "DIAMOND JUBILEE" for Germany since 2016. The varieties are characterized by their outstanding taste, shelf life and fruit sizes and are grown exclusively in protected cultivation using the long-cane method.
